Make
stand alone ornaments or coasters as shown below. Detailed instructions
are included and it is EASY. These can be used for wonderful
Christmas gifts for grandchildren or a unique, and
appreciated, hostess gift. A perfect size for the embroidered cards so
popular now. Absolutely wonderful for stockings, towels, placemats and
napkins. Don't forget Christmas tree skirts, tablecloths and runners. If you have a mega hoop, I've included designs grouped for
doing three designs in one hooping, a great time saver! Once you get
started with these little flakes, you won't want to stop!
Please note: the finished designs
below require a large hoop. |
|
Circle appliques are cut out along the embroidered
cutting line, then use as is for craft projects or finish with asic Cover
stitch or Snowflake Cover Stitch. |

Circle Blank (without designs)
3.87"x3.87"
Included are all small designs with a circular cutting line to form
applique. |
3 Blanks
3 blank circles in one hooping
4.02"x11.86" |
Using the blank circle in
your software, add text or even a different design of your choice to
form the back of your ornament.
Here you see the ornament back I've made for my
granddaughter by adding text and with the Basic Satin Cover Stitch. |
|
To
make an ornament or coaster, embroider any of the small size of design
with circular cutting line. Cut out the circle along cutting line and
you have a circular applique piece ready to make up oranments, coasters
or to applique on any project. See the pictures below. |

BASIC COVER STITCH

Want to
add more pizzazz to your ornament? Use some of that left over trim
you've been saving all these years because it was too good to throw
away. Glue it around the edge with some Fabri-Tac or other fabric glue
to dress up your ornament. |
|
Add
a ribbon loop at the top to make a simple ornament with the basic satin
cover stitch, as shown here. For a coaster, leave the loop off. You
could add a piece of vinyl, sandwiched between the front and back
circle, if you wanted to make your coasters leak-proof. |

THERE'S
STILL MORE! Use the circle applique with
the Snowflake Cover Stitch on everything from clothing to blankets. If
you REALLY love flakes, then you'll also love the word group included in
the set. |
Here is a matching outfit made with ready-made,
inexpensive sweats using the word group on one shoulder and the
Snowflake Cover Stitch using the appliques created with the small
designs in the circles.
